• Phone number — required to create an account. We use it to send a one-time passcode (OTP) so you can log in securely, without a password.
• Name and email — optional, collected at signup if you provide them.
• Trip log entries — if you choose to log trips, we store the state, region/lake, date, time, bite rating, fish count, depth, structure type, and any private notes you enter. This data is yours — we don't use it to generate reports, and we don't share it with anyone.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Push notification subscription — if you opt in to alerts, we store the subscription details needed to deliver them to your device.
• Standard usage data — basic server logs (e.g., request timestamps) used for security and troubleshooting.

How We Use Your Information

• Send a one-time login code by text message when you sign in.
• Deliver the fishing reports for the states you're subscribed to.
• Process and manage your subscription and billing.
• Send optional push notifications when a new report is published.
• Maintain and improve the service, and respond to support requests.

Text Messaging (SMS)

We use SMS for one purpose only: sending a one-time passcode (OTP) text message each time you log in. Message frequency varies based on your login activity — we do not send recurring messages, marketing texts, or promotional offers by SMS. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of receiving text messages, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. How We Share Information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run The Bite Reports — for example, sending text messages, processing payments, and hosting our servers. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services for us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

Data Retention & Security

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your Choices

• You can turn push notifications on or off at any time from your account.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time via "Manage Billing" on your account page.
• You can ask us to update or delete your account information by contacting us below.

Children's Privacy

The Bite Reports is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
